Peru’s prime minister has resigned after claims that he used his connections to get government contracts for a 25-year-old girlfriend.
According to the international news agency, in the viral audio clips, Alberto Otarola can be heard asking the woman to express his love and send her a CV.
In this regard, the Prime Minister of Peru has denied the accusations against him and investigations are ongoing in this regard.

It should be noted that the Peruvian Prime Minister is accused of using his influence to get government contracts for the woman. The scandal intensified last week when a channel aired the audio of Alberto’s conversation with a woman.
Also keep in mind that Prime Minister Alberto Otarola was serving as Peru’s defense minister until the end of 2022.
A man’s voice is caught on audio telling a woman, “I love you,” and asking her repeatedly when she is going to meet him. In a different one, he is heard stating: “Tell me, then, so we can talk,” You know of how annoying and painful these things are, but you also understand how much I love you.
Despite acknowledging her “sentimental relationship” with Mr. Otarola, Ms. Pinedo said on Tuesday that the chat was from 2021, before he was appointed minister in the department where she would subsequently serve.
President Dina Boluarte requested that Mr. Otarola, who was traveling on official business to Canada at the time of the controversy in Peru, end his trip and come back.
“Those who have always wanted me out of the government… have not even hesitated to edit an audio with the veiled purpose of tarnishing my image,” Mr. Otarola said in his resignation address.
