PML-N & MQM-P to Contest General Elections Together

PML-N and MQM-P form alliance for Pakistan’s Feb 8 general elections.

The announcement was made by PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique, according to Pakistan News Today, following a meeting between Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the party, and a delegation from the MQM-P, comprising Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar and Syed Mustafa Kamal in the party’s Model Town secretariat in Lahore.

He said that in an apparent attempt to weaken the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which has a stronghold in Sindh, both parties have chosen to run jointly in the elections on February 8.

According to reports, the PML-N has made the decision to form an electoral alliance with each and every PPP rival party in Sindh.

The president of the PML-N’s Sindh chapter, Bashir Memon, was appointed by former FIA officer Shehbaz Sharif, according to latest international news.

In order to discuss an alliance before the national elections, the party is also anticipated to get in touch with GDA.
