President Zardari has announced not to take salary of his position.
In a statement issued by the President’s House, it was stated that the President Asif Ali zardari decided not to take the salary due to the economic challenges facing the country.
The statement said that President Asif Zardari’s decision is aimed at encouraging prudent financial management in the country.
According to the House of Representatives, the President has preferred not to take a salary while deciding not to burden the national treasury.
It should be noted that Asif Zardari is the 14th President of Pakistan and has previously held the office from 2008 to 2013.
It should be noted here that on March 9, Asif Zardari, the nominated presidential candidate of the ruling coalition, won by securing 411 votes out of 1,185 votes of the Electoral College.
According to the Election Commission, a total of 1,044 members of the Senate, the National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies had exercised their right to vote in the presidential election.
On March 10, Asif Zardari has also taken the oath of his office, while he was also presented with a guard of honor after assuming the office of President yesterday.
President Asif Zardari visited Baghi for the guard of honor ceremony and Bilawal Bhutto, Asifa and Bakhtawar Bhutto also participated in the ceremony.
