PTI Demands Fresh Karachi Local Government Polls

PTI in Karachi demands new Local Government election, report ARY News.

Asad Umar, the secretary general of the PTI, said during a press conference in Islamabad that the PPP should be recognized as the winner of the LG elections’ second phase of local government, which should be deemed invalid.

In addition to calling for the resignation of the electoral body’s members, PTI Secretary General Asad Umar rejected the recently concluded LG elections in Sindh’s Karachi and Hyderabad divisions due to alleged rigging.

As election workers were seen stamping ballots in a video shared on social media on the morning of election day, the PTI leader claimed that voting was rigged from the beginning.

He asserted that:

Certain polling places experienced late delivery of balloting materials

In his words, the PDM attempted to steal the mandate, which is why the LG elections were repeatedly rescheduled. He further added that Karachi witnessed a hazardous game being played.

It should be mentioned that throughout Sindh, particularly in Karachi and Hyderabad, the Pakistan People’s Party won the most seats in the second round of the LG elections.

After the LG elections, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had the most seats in Karachi, with 93, according to the party position report issued by the ECP.

In the meantime, unofficial results from all 155 UCs show that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won 98 seats, making it the only party with enough support to name Hyderabad’s mayor.
