South Africa Achieves Third Highest World Cup Total

In 2023, South Africa defeats Bangladesh to earn the third-highest World Cup total.

Earlier, the South Africa team had set the world record for the highest total in World Cup competitions by scoring 428 runs against Sri Lanka on October 7, while they scored 399 runs for the loss of 7 wickets against England on October 21.

The South African team fell just one run short of becoming the team to score 400-plus runs twice in the same World Cup.

South Africa defeated Bangladesh by a huge margin of 149 runs, De Kock was declared the player of the match, the entire Bangladesh team was bowled out for 233 runs in 46.4 overs.

On the other hand, the South African cricket team has become the third team in the world to score more than 300 runs in the first innings for the seventh consecutive time. In the World Cup match played at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, South Africa won the title by scoring 382 runs for the loss of 5 wickets against Bangladesh.

Earlier, the England cricket team achieved this feat in 2019, while the Australian cricket team has scored more than 300 runs seven times in a row in 2007.
