The Government Maintains Petrol Prices while Slashing Diesel by Rs7

Islamabad govt maintains petrol prices at Rs281.34/liter for 2 weeks.

Other petrol prices, however, have dropped significantly. For example, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has dropped by Rs7 per liter, while the price of kerosene oil has dropped by Rs3.82 per liter. The price of light diesel oil dropped by Rs4.52 per liter as well.

The updated fuel prices were approved by acting prime minister Anwaar-Ul-Haq Kakar. They will take effect on Thursday at midnight and remain in place until December 15. In order to lessen the impact on domestic consumers, the nation adjusts fuel rates every two weeks, taking into account changes in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and the prices on the global energy market.

The interim government had previously lowered the price of gasoline and diesel by Rs2.04 and Rs6.47 per liter, respectively, on November 15.

The petroleum levy (PL) on gasoline and diesel is currently Rs60 per liter, while all petroleum products are exempt from general sales tax (GST).

Anticipate a decrease in diesel prices, widely used in transportation and agriculture, to alleviate inflationary pressures.
