"The Witcher" Season 3, Might Be Split Into Two Parts On Netflix

Fans of The Witcher on Netflix might have to wait bit longer to watch.

Due to the ongoing VFX difficulties, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich stated during an interview with the Collider that it was conceivable that the upcoming season of “The Witcher” might be split into two parts.

The series creator revealed that “at least seven more months of post-production” will be necessary before Season 3 is released, which could support dividing the season.

Declan De Barra, another co-creator of The Witcher: Blood Origin with Lauren, joined her for the conversation. The two were questioned about the availability of the upcoming season and whether Netflix will split the episodes into two parts.

Although we haven’t yet talked about partitioning the season, Lauren added,

“Given what we’re seeing across all kinds of streams, I wouldn’t rule it out.”

“I do assume that we never release anything of which we aren’t immensely proud. So it determines when we will launch. It should be intriguing, too. Again, there is still a very long way to go until the release of Witcher Season 3—roughly eight months. So, if God wills, we release everything all at once. But who knows—we’ll just have to wait and see.

The Netflix series in dispute wouldn’t be the first to be split into two parts for unrelated reasons. As per the source, the Duffer Brothers chose to divide Stranger Things Season 4 into two parts, in part to give the VFX team time to finish work on the final episodes, unlike Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, which released episodes in pairs as part of a thematic build-up.
