The suspension of X in Pakistan was confirmed by Downdetector.pk and NetBlocks, a UK-based Internet monitoring organization. The glitch has been seen several times in the past few days, affecting the country’s online activities.

The timing of the service’s closure is also notable in light of the general elections in 2024 and the role digital platforms can play in promoting public discourse and information delivery.
