US has imposed travel restrictions on the Iranian foreign minister.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullah is subject to travel restrictions, according to a statement issued by the US State Department on Thursday.
The sanctions include restricting the Iranian delegation to a designated area around the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
According to the US State Department, the Iranian delegation’s travel options will be limited to a two-block radius around the UN headquarters. Additionally, their only means of travel will be between the Iranian embassy in New York City and the UN headquarters.

Additionally, the Iranian delegation’s ability to travel through John F. Kennedy Airport will be restricted. According to reports, the foreign minister of Iran was present at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
With both nations participating in diplomatic meetings at the UN, tensions between the US and Iran have increased in light of these travel restrictions.
IRGC Commanders
Following attacks on its consulate in Damascus, Syria, which resulted in the deaths of several high ranking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders, Iran launched a missile and drone attack on Israel.
Israel has not acknowledged or refuted the assault. In the meantime, the US has been advised to “stay out” of its disputes with Israel by the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN.
On April 13, a message on the social media platform X (previously Twitter) declared, “It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the US MUST STAY AWAY!”
Following the drone strike on Israel by Iran, the US and the EU, among other Western nations, are considering imposing additional penalties on the Middle Eastern nation, which is already struggling with the effects of years-long sanctions on its already frail economy.
