3.4M exercise voting rights in 2nd phase of Sindh LG polls in Karachi.
In nine districts in the Hyderabad division and seven districts in Karachi, elections are holding. To ensure fair and transparent elections in both divisions, stringent security measures have been put in place.
In 16 districts of Karachi and Hyderabad, about 8,000 polling places has designated as “sensitive” or “very sensitive.”
There are 3,415 sensitive polling places in Karachi, 1,496 highly sensitive, and 79 standard polling places.
1,270 are sensitive, 779 are highly sensitive, and 625 are normal out of 2,674 polling places in the Hyderabad division.
All 1,008 polling places in Thatta and Sujawal have been designating sensitive, with 185 of those being highly sensitive.
Security measures:
The duties of around 43,605 law enforcement officers and professionals are carrying out in accordance with the defense policy create by the government of Sindh.
The official states that 200 members of the Frontier Constabulary and 500 members of the rangers have also been dispatch for election duty in addition to the law enforcement agency.
As per the spokesperson, every effort is form to protect the lives and property of the public.
On election day, more than 43,605 Karachi police officers are on duty, 17,588 of whom are station in the East zone.
Officers, employees, and other personnel totaling 6,533, 4,837, and 6,218 have been deploying in the District East, Malir, and Korangi, consecutively.
The spokesperson further states that there are troops assign to the South Zone, District South, District Central, and Keamari, respectively, in the following numbers: 11,627, 2,155, 4558, and 4914.
In the West Zone, District Central, and District West, respectively, there were 14,390, 9,672, and 4,718 officers, servicemen, and staff members deployed.
However, about 3,800 traffic police officers have been carrying out their responsibilities.
