Who is North Nazimabad Assistant Commissioner Hazim Bangwar?

Unexpectedly, a singer now serves as North Nazimabad’s commissioner.

Hazem Bangwar, along with his mixed race, embarks on a journey to change the face of bureaucracy in Pakistan. The 30-year-old officer and north Nazimabad assistant commissioner hail from an affluent background with a mother of Iraqi origin and a father who had already served as a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the police.

It’s safe to say Bangwar had no problem being awesome and authentic. A bureaucrat returning from New York is excited to serve the neighborhood of Karachi.

Bangwar recently tweeted, “North Nazimabad, it is an honor to serve you as your new Assistant Commissioner.”

Being completely different from its peers, many people are eager to know more about Bangwar.

Biography:

Born in Karachi on December 30, 1993, Bangwar moved to New York where he attended Midwood High School. His mother, Feroz Akbar, an architect by profession, hails from Iraq. His father Ali Akbar Bangwar has served as DIG in Pakistan.

Bangwar moved to London for six years where he obtained his first degree in Fashion Design and Marketing from AIU London and later his second LLB degree from the University of London.

Music career:

During his school days in London, Bangwar spent his free time in studios where Evan Rogers heard his demos and later sent them to Interscope Records where Jay Brown, an A&R executive at the record label, was the first to hear them.

He was one of the people, After demoing Jimmy Lovin, the CEO of Interscope Records heard the demo and signed him to a two-year contract with Bangwar.

In 2013, Hazim released his first mixtape under Interscope Records “One Man Army” with the lead single ‘Run Em’, which later featured many artists including Havana Brown.

After writing for artists such as Jessie J, Future, Ciara, Joels, T-Pain, Jason Derulo, and Nicki Minaj, Bangwar was offered a singer/songwriter position by Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. under Young Money Entertainment.

In November 2019, Hazim Bangwar released his debut single “Harem”, which charted at #5 in South Korea, #1 in Hungary, #2 in Egypt, and #5 in India.

This feat made him the first Pakistani singer to reach the international charts with an English song.

In February 2020, Bangsar released his second single “Hell Ya”, which reached #1 on the Ghana Music Charts, #2 in France, #1 in South Korea, and #1 in Austria. In 2021, he released his first Urdu song “Tehku Bhola”.

On his return to Pakistan, Bangwar qualified for the SPSC examination and got placed as a PMS officer. He is currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Karachi Central.
