The live broadcast of these videos on several satellite TV channels created chaos and panic among viewers and law enforcement agencies. According to the notification, such mob action not only endangers law and order but also endangers lives and public property.

It added that broadcasting such content is a violation of the Supreme Court’s 2018 judgment in the automatic notice case.

The Authority acts in accordance with the powers conferred by section 27(a) of the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002, as amended by the (Amendment) Act, 2007. March) prohibits direct coverage of public gatherings, rallies, or marches.

PEMRA also warned that non-compliance would result in license suspension under Section 30 (3) of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 as amended by the PEMRA (Amendment) Act 2007.
