Punjab Govt mandates oath of Khatam-e-Nabuwat in Marriage Certificate.
The decision was announced by the Punjab government on its official Twitter account, along with a short video clip.
In October of last year. Punjab Assembly unanimously passed a resolution demanding that the oath of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (seal of the prophets) be included in the marriage certificate form in order to discourage marriages between Muslims and non-Muslims (Ahmadis).
The resolution was presented jointly by members of the provincial assemblies of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) (PML-Q).
PML-Q MPA Khadija Umar stated that there have been numerous complaints that people conceal their faith during marriage.
After Several Years of Marriage
The families discover that one of the spouses adhered to Ahmadi beliefs, which causes a slew of issues for the families and children.
She emphasized that the office of the Punjab Assembly Speaker had received several complaints about this issue as well, prompting the decision to include a box for belief in the Finality of the Prophethood (PBUH) in the marriage certificate form.

In response to a media query, she stated that while she could not specify the number of complaints, it was a fundamental requirement of the Muslim belief.
She emphasized that the resolution had been passed and that the legislative process was underway. She maintained that after the law was passed, every bride and groom had to take an oath of the finality of Prophethood.
According to the Resolution’s Text
Assembly of Punjab demands that, in order to distinguish between Muslims and non-Muslims, Qadianis submit an affidavit in the passport form under NADRA and the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961.
The column of the oath of end of Prophethood should be included in the proposed marriage certificate form under Rules No. 8 and 10 of the established rules.
Minority community
On December 14, the Lahore High Court (LHC) denied the post-arrest bail application of an Ahmadiyya minority community member accused of duping a Muslim woman into marriage by disguising himself as Muslim.
On June 22, 2021, LHC judge Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi denied accused Shehzad Ashraf’s post-arrest bail on allegations of fraudulently contracting marriage with a Muslim girl, sharing her objectionable photographs and videos containing disrespectful remarks against the complainant.
Section 493
The documents show the petitioner’s religion as “Qadiani,” which appears to support the allegation against him for the offense punishable under Section 493-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
