8 people have died as a result of a gas explosion in a coal mine in Harnai district of Balochistan.
Officials of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that 8 miners have been safely evacuated from the coal mine.
He stated that they have also removed the bodies of 8 miners who died due to suffocation, while they are currently conducting rescue operations to save 4 miners trapped in the coal mine.

Local people said that 20 miners were present in the mine at the time of the gas explosion.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives as a result of the explosion in the coal mine in Harnai. Deepest prayers and condolences to the bereaved.
The Prime Minister directed to speed up the rescue efforts of the miners, the Prime Minister also directed to provide all possible medical assistance to the injured miners as a result of the accident.
The Prime Minister said that such incidents are very painful and sad, standing with the affected families in this hour of grief, the government will provide all possible relief to the injured and the affected families.
