Hot Weather Forecast in Karachi from Oct 8 by MET Office: PMD

PMD predicts hot weather spell in the Karachi from 8 to 10 October.

Weather is likely to become hotter in Karachi and its suburbs with the maximum temperature likely to range between 38° to 40° Celsius. The rest of the province is forecast to have hot weather. The Met Office forecast weather that is hot in most parts of the country on Thursday. The water shall remain hot and dry.

According to the PMD, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, the Potohar region, and Kashmir would likely experience rainfall with thunderstorms, as well as hailstorms at irregular locations. The weather remained dry and hot in the last 24 hours. A maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius recorded at Turbat in Balochistan

Karachi, the world’s second-largest city by population, is emerging from the grips of a deadly heatwave. A persistent low-pressure system camped over the Arabian Sea stifled ocean breezes and brought temperatures in excess of 113°F (45°C) to the city of 23 million people in June. The searing heat disrupted electricity and water service, making life nearly unbearable.

Officials believe that the heatwave killed at least 1,200 Pakistanis, more than twice the number of people killed in terrorist assaults this year. However, meteorology alone cannot account for this unexpected change of events. Rather, like with many natural disasters, Karachi’s (weather) heatwave is the result of a complex interaction of natural and man-made elements.
