Sindh Education Department bans corporal punishment in all schools.
Prof. Rafia Mallah, Additional Director for Private Schools, issued an official statement to this effect on Thursday and distributed it to all private schools.
The decision was made, according to the communique, in light of the increasing number of complaints from parents of the afflicted children.
It was specified that the conditions under which corporal punishment in any form would be strictly prohibited would be listed on school registration certificates, and that if these conditions were not met, the registration of the school would be revoked.
The primary goals of the department’s vigilance are to ensure that this rule is strictly followed and to hold schools responsible for their behavior.
In response to parent worries, the spokesman pleaded with parents to report any instances of physical punishment right away.
