Indian army personnel were swept away in the flood

A Sikkim dam broke, causing flooding to damage an Indian army base.

According to the World News Agency, the Indian Ministry of Defense has claimed that the dam broke during the devastating rain caused by cloudburst in the state of Sikkim and the flood train hit the army base located near the Chinese border.

According to the representative of the Indian Ministry of Defense, 23 personnel went missing and military installations were destroyed by the flood. A search operation has been started in the area.

The official further said that there are difficulties in relief activities due to intermittent rain and thunder. Landslides have also occurred in Guhati.

There are fears that Indian Army personnel may have been swept away by the floodwaters, and that the chances of finding them are diminishing.

Several roads, cars and other items were swept away during the floods and the entire area lost power. The state administration had declared a state of emergency but aid could not start reaching many areas due to unfavorable weather conditions.
