“I hold the Pakistani people’s will with the highest regard. As a result, I have made the decision to step away from politics completely and resign from my post as Chairman of the IPP,” Tareen wrote.
He thanked everyone in the party and sent his best wishes their way. The post went on to say, “By the Grace of Allah, I will continue to serve my country to the best of my ability in a private capacity.”
The leader of the IPP ran in the recent general election from both NA-149 Multan, where independent candidate Amir Dogar defeated him, and NA-155 Lodhran, where PML-N candidate Siddique Khan Baloch defeated him.
IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan expressed sorrow in response to this news and stated that Tareen will always be the IPP’s major sponsor. He went on to say that Tareen’s employment by any administration was an honor for it.
