NEPRA reduces electricity for K-Electric customers by Rs2.15 per unit.
Due to fuel cost adjustments (FCAs) for October 2022, the electricity unit tariff has been decreased. Customers of lifelines would not be eligible for the respite, according to the electricity regulator. The NEPRA statement states that K Electric customers will receive relief in the amount of Rs3.59 billion. A thorough judgment from the NEPRA will be released later.
On K Electric’s request for a quarterly adjustment from July to September and October, a hearing was held under the direction of NEPRA Chairman Tauseef H. Farooqi. He said that the impact of one billion was lessened as a result of the decrease in furnace oil output. The cost of purchasing power from CPPA was lowered by 6%.
Why high-speed diesel was utilized in October was questioned by Chairman NEPRA. K-Electric representatives commented on this, saying that in the event of a Sui Southern gas shortage, high speed was employed and some energy was generated as a small backup.
