“Unknown assailant(s) who threw acidic liquid at me attacked me at my address in England (where I am living in exile with my family) last evening,” he wrote on his X handle.

Akbar stated that he moved about 1.5 months ago and is now residing in a small village outside of London. He claimed that someone had discovered his new address.

According to the politician, who has been living in self-exile in the UK, a delivery man wearing a helmet rang the doorbell on Sunday while he was at home with his children.

He says that the man threw acid at him from a bottle as soon as he opened the door, injuring one side of his body and face.

Akbar also stated that he called the police shortly after the incident, and that they showed up at his house in five minutes. The former head of accountability claimed that after spending ten or eleven hours in the hospital, he was sent home.
