Opening match of World Cup in India lacked fans & enthusiasm was low.
According to videos that have gone viral on social networking site Twitter (X), only a few hundred spectators attended the World Cup opener between England and New Zealand.

A day before the start of the massive event, the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) had already announced the cancellation of the opening ceremony, much to the chagrin of cricket fans.
The board canceled the inauguration ceremony without giving any reason. The day was Captain’s Day but the South African captain was seen dozing off during the ceremony.
Fans claim that there is little enthusiasm for the 2023 WC in India.
On the other hand, the Indian board and government are still stubborn. They have not yet given visas to spectators including Pakistani media.
Since 1975, no visas have been granted to Pakistani fans or media during WC matches, an unprecedented event.
