Woman’s 33-year no-haircut journey leads to mullet taller than her.
The US Mullet Championships, which attracts more than 1,000 applicants yearly, is the biggest contest of its sort in the entire globe.
Since 1990, Tennessee native Tami Manis hasn’t had her hair cut on the back. It has expanded to 172.72 cm (5 feet 8 inches) in the 33 years since then.
Manis, 58, discussed her journey to achieving what is likely one of the most bizarre Guinness World Records held on Thursday. She explained how the music video for the 1985 song Voices Carry by the rock band Til Tuesday inspired her to start growing her hair particularly long in the back in an interview that was published by the organization known for maintaining a database of more than 40,000 world records.
“I’ve been blessed that my hair grows, and now it’s the world’s longest mullet, and I’m very happy with it,” she said.
She claimed that most people are unaware of how lengthy the back is until she turns around.
