YouTube introduce premium-only feature; not all users may appreciate.
Following the initial test, YouTube will formally unveil its new feature in April with high-bitrate 1080p ISO.
On YouTube, the most widely used video platform in the world, all premium customers using a desktop browser will now have access to high-definition 1080p content.
Users who do not have Premium access can still watch videos at 1080p, but Premium users will notice sharper, more distinct pictures. This feature is particularly helpful for videos with plenty of movement and detail.
For Chromecast and living room video gaming consoles, enhanced 1080p premium subscriptions are also offered, while Android users are not yet able to use the service.
