Ashfaq Ishaq, ARY News anchor accused of brutally beating his wife.
Ashfaq Ishaq, anchor for ARY News and host of Bakhabar Savera’s morning show, has come under fire for allegedly abusing his wife.
The host of Bakhaber Savera’s show was accused of beating his wife, who had taken photos of her face and arms and shared them on social media.
She said in her statement that Satti had picked her up from her mother’s house and then viciously attacked her, slamming her against walls, dragging her by her hair, and trying to suffocate her with a pillow.
Along with claiming that Satti threatened to kill her and dispose of her body, the victim who sustained serious injuries including as broken ribs, a fractured jaw, and considerable bruising also made this allegation.
She claims that both Satti and his mother, who was there during the assault, disregarded her appeals for mercy and assistance. The woman was left for days in a locked room without food or drink, yet she was able to break free and get help.
An FIR (First Information Report) was submitted to the police after a protracted battle, but the victim claims that because of Satti’s alleged influence and pressure on law enforcement, not much progress has been achieved in seeking justice.
The victim has made an appeal to the public for assistance in her pursuit of justice because it is alleged that the accused is avoiding law enforcement.
Online outrage over the matter has led to calls for Satti’s punishment and accountability from many. The victim’s need for assistance as the inquiry progresses highlights how vital it is to address the epidemic of domestic abuse and make sure those who commit it are held responsible for their acts.
