The 32-year-old England Test captain has already withdrawn from the Indian Premier League, which started recently.

England are the defending champions in the T20 World Cup in West Indies and America in June.

After this tournament, England will play home Test series against West Indies and Sri Lanka and T20 and ODI series against Australia in September.

Stokes said that withdrawing from the IPL and the World Cup will be a sacrifice that will allow me to become the all-rounder that I want to be in the near future.

He earned the title of man of the match in the 2022 T20 World Cup Final against Pakistan in Australia by delivering a brilliant maiden half-century, which helped England secure their second World Cup victory in the shortest format of the game.
