Pakistanis are Likely to get Six Holidays this Eid-ul-Fitr

In Pakistan, Pakistanis are likely to get 6 holidays this Eid-ul-Fitr.

Pakistanis are likely to get six holidays this Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid-ul-Fitr is an important event in Pakistan as it is celebrated at the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan. People eagerly wait for Eid, which is determined by the sighting of the Shawwal moon after Ramadan.

The lunar calendar was launched in 2019 by then Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry to help keep things in order.

Rather than solely relying on moon sightings, this calendar employs mathematics and scientific principles to forecast the timing of religious festivals such as Eid, without the need for direct observation of the moon.

According to this Lunar calendar, Eid ul Fitr is expected on April 10 this year, following Ramadan’s 29-day duration.

As people anxiously await Eid, they begin to prepare for it. Traditionally, holidays begin a day before Eid, so if the government declares a four-day vacation from April 9 to April 12, people will have six days off in a row, including the weekend.

However, the government has yet to officially publish the holiday dates. They’ll consult with many departments, including the PMD, to determine when the holidays will be. This way, they ensure that the holiday plan is compatible with everyone’s religious views and other crucial factors.
