The recipient of the award is a female police officer who stands out for having outstanding policing abilities that significantly influence her agency or area of responsibility.

According to the association’s official website, examples of these include the apprehension of a habitual offender, the identification of numerous infractions, enhanced road safety, or enhanced policing performance.

Bukhari, who works for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, was chosen for the international award because of her efforts to protect women, her invention of intelligent traffic management systems, and her use of artificial intelligence to apprehend criminals.

The International Association of Women Police will hold its 61st annual conference in Chicago, USA, in September 2024, where the Punjab Police officer would accept the prize.

Dr. Usman Anwar, the IG of Punjab Police, has described the remarkable accomplishment of SSP Riffar as a source of pride for all police personnel, particularly female officers.
