Arrival of Ramadan, Government banned the export of onions & bananas.
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the government has banned export of key commodities, particularly onions and bananas.
To address the shortage of essential items, the provinces and the center have collaborated to prevent the emergence of a scarcity situation. In this regard, both the center and the provinces are contemplating a ban on exporting items that are at risk of shortage.
Amid the growing shortage of onions and bananas, the Chief Secretary of Punjab has proposed a temporary ban on the export of bananas to Iran and Afghanistan and onions to the Gulf states till the end of Ramadan.
The purpose of this recommendation is to ensure ample availability of these items for household consumption to the people of Pakistan during the holy month.
However, exporters on the other hand have claimed that a temporary ban has been imposed on onion and banana exports, while onion prices are skyrocketing due to India’s ban on onion exports.
Sources say that the Ministry of Commerce has directed the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to inform the stakeholders about possible export restrictions.
The move reflects the government’s concern to manage the expected shortage and prioritize the needs of the local population.

Dive into the world of SQL programming with our comprehensive guide.
In today’s data-driven world, the ability to effectively manage databases is paramount. Whether you’re a seasoned database administrator or a budding data analyst, mastering SQL programming is essential for efficiently storing, retrieving, and manipulating data. Structured Query Language (SQL) serves as the foundation for interacting with relational databases, and a solid understanding of its principles can open up a world of possibilities in data management and analysis.
Understanding SQL: The Building Blocks
At its core, SQL is a standardized language used to communicate with relational database management systems (RDBMS). It provides a set of commands for defining, querying, and manipulating data stored in tables. To embark on your SQL journey, it’s crucial to grasp the fundamental building blocks:
Data Definition Language (DDL): DDL commands allow you to define the structure of your database objects, such as tables, indexes, and constraints. Examples include CREATE, ALTER, and DROP statements.
Data Manipulation Language (DML): DML commands enable you to interact with the data within your database. Common DML statements include SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE, allowing you to retrieve, add, modify, and remove data as needed.
Data Control Language (DCL): DCL commands govern access to the database objects. GRANT and REVOKE are examples of DCL statements used to assign and revoke privileges to users and roles.
Mastering SQL: Advanced Techniques
Once you’ve grasped the basics, it’s time to delve into advanced SQL techniques that can enhance your database management skills:
Joins: Understanding different types of joins (e.g., INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, RIGHT JOIN, FULL JOIN) is crucial for combining data from multiple tables based on related columns.
Subqueries: Subqueries, also known as nested queries, allow you to nest one query within another. They’re useful for performing complex operations and filtering data based on conditions.
Indexes: Indexes improve the performance of database queries by speeding up data retrieval operations. Learning how to create and utilize indexes effectively can significantly enhance database performance.
Stored Procedures: Stored procedures are precompiled SQL statements stored in the database for reuse. They enhance efficiency, maintainability, and security by encapsulating complex logic within the database itself.
Best Practices for SQL Programming
To become a proficient SQL programmer, it’s essential to follow best practices that promote readability, maintainability, and performance:
Use Descriptive Names: Choose meaningful names for tables, columns, and other database objects to enhance code readability and understanding.
Normalize Your Database: Normalize your database schema to eliminate redundancy and ensure data integrity. This involves organizing data into separate tables and establishing relationships between them.
Optimize Queries: Write efficient SQL queries by avoiding unnecessary joins, optimizing indexes, and using appropriate WHERE clauses to filter data.
Handle Errors Gracefully: Implement error handling mechanisms to gracefully handle exceptions and errors that may occur during SQL execution.

US department called the banning on social media Pakistan intolerable.
US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller reportedly told a foreign news agency that Pakistan respects freedom of expression like the rest of the world and banning any kind of social media platform in the foreign press briefing is intolerable.
He announced that he will continue to press the Pakistani authorities for basic freedoms and that he rejects the government’s shutdown of all social platforms, including X.
According to Matthew Miller, although the new Pakistani government is open to dialogue with them, a thorough investigation into irregularities in the electoral process is still necessary.
He had earlier said that the US values its alliance with Pakistan and will continue to work with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to advance common goals.
According to a US State Department official, Maryam Nawaz’s election as prime minister marks a turning point in Pakistani politics, and both the US and Pakistan want to benefit from a prosperous and democratic Pakistan.
Comedian Kunal: Why don’t we elect Mukesh Ambani as Prime Minister?
Indian stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra raised a very remarkable point regarding the deteriorating situation of Indian politics, especially the changes that have come in the last decade. The same statement was made by Kunal a few years ago which was one of the jokes he used to tell people. ‘Why don’t we elect Mukesh Ambani as Prime Minister?’ This was the unique question he put before his audience.
In other words, why should voters waste their votes to elect people who are funded by Mukesh Ambani or some other tycoon to get elected to Parliament, as opposed to removing the middlemen (politicians) and directly voting for them? Choosing tycoons will reduce costs.
In such elections, there will be no need to fund politicians, nor will there be any need to give money to please anyone.
Who would dare to carry a suitcase full of currency notes to Mukesh Ambani? It will be an unnecessary effort’, the comment elicited spontaneous laughter from everyone and the image of stockbroker Harshad Mehta who allegedly presented former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao with a bag full of money came to mind.
Kunal’s Unique Thought
Kunal’s unique thought came to mind again last week when Mukesh Ambani was watching his younger son talking about his future daughter-in-law.
The audience listened with interest to Anant Ambani’s emotional speech while Mukesh Ambani could also be seen wiping his tears on the occasion.
This elite invitation was attended by famous American businessmen and political figures, among which Ivanka Trump is prominent.
Hillary Clinton was also reported to attend as she has attended previous weddings of the Ambani family, but it might be too much for her to be seen in the same frame as Donald Trump’s ‘delicate’ daughter.
In addition, Hillary Clinton, who helped Joe Biden become president by removing Bernie Sanders from the presidential race in 2020, could create difficulties for Donald Trump before the November elections.
The point to be made here is the fact that whoever becomes the US President, Mukesh Ambani will be at an advantage.
Reports of Gautam Adani’s presence at Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding functions have given a vivid picture of the power play in the business world.
In 2013, a group of businessmen including Gautam Adani decided to nominate, backed and funded Narendra Modi as their prime ministerial candidate.
In other words, he was wary of a Congress-led coalition coming back to power, especially one likely to be led by a member of the Gandhi family.
Business tycoons
Are these the heirs to the businesses that Mahatma Gandhi saw as the ‘trustees of a new India’? Gandhi kept many Gujarati tycoons close to him.
In return, he pledged to support the Congress and India’s independence under the leadership of Gandhi.
There is also a theory that businessmen close to Gandhi saw Liaquat Ali Khan’s performance as interim finance minister in the caretaker set-up headed by Jawaharlal Nehru as too socialist to accept a future without the partition of India.
Besides, Jawaharlal Nehru used to approach these business tycoons in various ways without creating suspicion.
During Nehru’s regime, the media freely exposed and targeted the big names of India’s corporate cluster. For example, a Bengali journalist, Deba Jyoti Burman, researched GD Birla and published a book.
The book titled ‘Mystery of Birla House’ details the tax evasion by Mahatma Gandhi’s close friend GD Birla through large-scale transactions at below and above market value.
Such revealing books rarely come before the readers of India. A Western journalist’s researched biography of Dhirubhai Ambani was mysteriously banned from sale in India after a photocopy of the book was used to share dubious details.
Similarly, the story was also heard that GD Birla had bought all the books of the first and second editions of this book. Finally he bought the copyright of this book by Deba Jyoti Burman.
The book would have been forgotten by now but a copy found its way to the Nehru Memorial Library in Delhi. Deba Jyoti Burman created the press where she promoted right-wing ideologies.
Nehru’s Gujarati son-in-law also made revelations about his role as a Congress MP in secret business.
Congress Leaders
Indira Gandhi went a step further and nationalized private banks and Rajiv Gandhi warned tycoons to stop backing Congress leaders.
This is because the media today, especially the TV channels owned by anti-Congress tycoons, miss no opportunity to taunt or abuse Rahul Gandhi.
The massive opposition rally in Patna last Sunday was designed to make the ruling establishment in Delhi wary of whatever it did, though predictably the TV channels did their best to suppress the massive gathering.
Rahul Gandhi’s presence as the main speaker must have been more apprehensive. Rahul Gandhi is one such leader who named Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s close business tycoons along with opposition leader Mehwa Moitra who was expelled from the House.
At one point in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi even played a picture of Narendra Modi traveling in the private jet of business tycoon Gautam Adani.
Of course, the alleged benefits to businesses are a bigger deal than Narendra Modi traveling in a tycoon’s jet on this or any other occasion.
Untold Truth
However, a closer look at Kunal Kamra’s thoughts reveals an untold truth. In a way, the Modi government resembles a big advertising business.
There are no press conferences and, like board meetings, no cabinet meeting gives any indication of what was discussed at the meeting.
One condition considering the election of tycoons to Parliament is that they must hold at least two press conferences a year.
Not only do citizens want to know their views on the economic framework of governance, there is no doubt that they will handle economic affairs in a professional manner.
But given the complex nature of India’s political reality, it would also be good to know what businesses think about the permanent transition to India’s majority state.
How do Adani, Ambani and others view routine incidents of communal and caste-based violence as whether they will further fuel nationalist politics? Just acknowledging this underlying concern, even if it is for a sinister profit motive, will make Kunal Kamra’s fantasy seem less contrived than the vision of a ‘New India’.
General Asim Munir met Shehbaz Sharif at PM House & congratulated him.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir visited Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Wednesday and congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his appointment as the country’s Chief Executive for a record two terms.
In their first meeting since Shehbaz’s oath-taking ceremony on Monday, the two dignitaries talked about issues pertaining to operations and security in the army.
After serving in the highly coveted office from April 2022 to August 2023 for 16 months, Shehbaz was re-elected as prime minister on Sunday.
Shehbaz has already won the presidency twice, the first time coming from 201 votes in a chaotic session of the lower house of parliament against Omar Ayub Khan, the candidate of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), which is supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with 92 votes.
Shehbaz’s triumph was anticipated because, along from the PML-N, he had the backing of seven other parties. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z), and National Party (NP) support the PM-elect.
Army regrets claims of election meddling
The army’s top brass expressed shock at claims that the armed forces meddled in the election process the day before at the 263rd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), which was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
This was in response to political parties expressing grave concerns over the results of the poll on February 8.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement stating that the forum had observed that the military had no involvement in the election process.
“Some vested small segments of polity and media especially social media have been maligning the armed forces of Pakistan with unsubstantiated allegations of interference which is highly deplorable,” the statement continued.
The senior brass of the military also emphasized the need for due process to be followed with proof and evidence, as opposed to using emotional outbursts and unwarranted, unconstitutional political speech.
The corps commanders expressed their delight with the peaceful transfer of democratic power in the provinces and the Center. “[The] Forum hoped that the post elections environment brings in desired political and economic stability resulting into peace and prosperity for the people of Pakistan.”
Mufti Abdul Qavi was caught the partying once again, video goes viral.
Mufti Abdul Qavi, the controversial preacher from Pakistan, is still in the news for all the wrong reasons, leaked video of him partying has been making the rounds on the internet.
Despite several scandals, the notorious scholar who had his title of Mufti revoked by his family earlier this year due to his immoral activities is not slowing down.
The most recent videos, secretly captured on a cell phone, feature Mufti having a good time with a few side ladies while taking in the nightlife of a foreign country. Qavi’s companions appear to be strippers who gave him hugs while showcasing their dance skills.
Although the precise location of the video is still unknown, it is widely available online. Mufti is well-known for his late-night partying and drug and alcohol consumption.
Qavi faced harsh criticism and anger after controversial Tiktoker Hareem Shah leaked his pornographic movies.
